  1.           Welcome to the site where hand-crafted, custom rocking chairs are made.              
       Each sculpted rocking chair is precisely made to fit your deminsions.  Custom made rocking chairs that are museum quality heirlooms in a variety of hardwoods such as Walnut, Cherry, Curly Maple, quarter-sawn oak and also exotic woods.
    These hand crafted maloof style rocking chairs are the most comfortable rocking chairs made.  The flexible back braces are curved to give you the perfect lumbar support.  Each rocker requires approximately 150 hours of work to complete and each chair is hand made to order.                                                                                                             
 

I carefully hand select all the wood.  And pay close attention to symmetry, joinery and grain direction. This is the  Hal Taylor version of the Maloof style Rocking Chair. Over 120 pieces of wood are bent, shaped and assembled to form each of these chairs.  Each chair is sanded until the wood  looks and feels like it all ready has a finish on it.

 

Before the finish is applied I engrave on the bottom of the chair seat:  The date, chair number, name who the chair was made for and my signature. I use several coats of a hand rubbed oil and varnish mixture which drys in the wood, not on the wood, followed by a top quality wax.  Thank you for visiting my site and If you would like more information send me an email
